That made me chuckle! If you don't like what someone is doing, name name's, don't be passive aggressive and throw shade on entire swaths of people based on what one person did to you while wearing a pair of vans and riding a CB750. What people buy, wear, ride, is only your business if you want to be pathetic and jealous. Who cares what EXIF is doing? Motorcycles are cool!

By the way, irony hasn't been in style for over a decade. That was a t-shirt culture phenomenon in the early 2000s. The people who you think are acting ironically are really just enjoying themselves earnestly.

There is a live and let live feel to Los Angeles, it's honestly one of the best parts of being here. No judgement. They spend time trying to look like they don't care while purchasing $600 hand sewn canvas courier bags or wearing Vans without socks when riding a chopped '74 CB cafe. The EXIF / cafe bike culture is what the chopper scene was 15 years ago - nothing more. Guys thinking they're more important than they are, trying to 'market' themselves into success. It doesn't work that way. Overnight success happens in about 20 years. Ask Arlen Ness.

And about Mulholland Drive - I agree 100% with the author of the article. The Angeles Crest and Mulholland are filled with squids - both 2 and 4 wheeled varieties who belong on a track or an airstrip with nothing else to collide with. MOre than that, it's a reflection of the 'all for me' culture though. If you feel out of place around well-dressed people, good coffee, beautiful motorcycles, and good architecture, you have your own issues. Deus is a silly, and I'll never buy anything but coffee, but the employees have always been nice. You walked in with a bad attitude.

Also, anyone who can ride Mulholland and have a bad time is either spoiled or biased.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164874096778415414.post-64023175464932503882016-04-16T07:49:59.932-06:002016-04-16T07:49:59.932-06:00I must agree about Dues. What a bunch of sell outs. I admit it is a great concept but it is such a corporate move of illusion over substance. At least your anti-commercialization attitude is fairly consistent, even if it's a bit muddled at times by the simultaneous bashing/beatifying of the "hipster moto scene". The mechanics in that "local back alley shop with dirty floors"? If they are untalented douchebags hacking up subframes, they suck; if they're highly-skilled and charge per that skill level, they suck. So doing it yourself is the only way to go custom then, right? Sure, just as long as you don't submit your work to some godforsaken commercial shithole like BikeEXIF - because heaven forbid someone might see you taking pride in your work and assume you're just another douchebag trying to cash in on the hipster moto culture.

And anyway, like you said back in 2014, "Who cares? It doesn't make a difference." eidetekerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04696832857913506390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164874096778415414.post-5454029034379196012016-04-12T16:42:01.887-06:002016-04-12T16:42:01.887-06:00Loved this segment. That won't affect their biases will it?!?
I don't particularly care if a website goes commercial but Exif in particular pisses me off. Their commenters and that ass-kissing moderator are just a mutual admiration society and if you don't agree with their opinions you get gleefully banned from commenting. So fuck them.
That's why I appreciate your determination to keep your site free of ads so you can speak your mind without fear of backlash.
Write on Cormier!
