We were all members of the VMCC club, too. I once rode a Velocette GTP 2 stroke that George had tuned and modified for vintage trials. I'm no great rider but it was so light and torquey and easy to ride I won the event.

Not seen George for years. I hope he, Wendy and family are all well.

Geoff SleathAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164874096778415414.post-59402880092464809352022-08-22T11:00:01.096-06:002022-08-22T11:00:01.096-06:00I never new that I never new that Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164874096778415414.post-3654525515004123572022-08-21T13:34:21.200-06:002022-08-21T13:34:21.200-06:00I'll be on the IoM for the first two days of t...I'll be on the IoM for the first two days of the Manx, riding my dark blue '78 Silk 700 Mk2: Originally paint was a dull silver-grey.
1/2 fairing and clip-ons special lowered seat, lighter grab rail, instrument mountings and other bits, thanks to a lot of assistance from Clive Worral. In the early 1960`s a friend ran a 1958 Scott by Matt Holder, a lovely smooth bike to ride, probably just about equal in performance to a Villiers 2T 250cc twin, but emitted vast smoke clouds when opened up, luckily the bikes performance meant it was always at the rear!
Saw a Silk version in the IoM in about 1974/5 which sounded superb, and seemed to go very well, wish I`d been able to try it out.BROKKnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164874096778415414.post-14716751497820425022013-12-14T04:10:02.694-07:002013-12-14T04:10:02.694-07:00This bike and its creator must go in the British M...This bike and its creator must go in the British Motorcycle Hall of FameHugh McNeillienoreply@blogger.com
